Burnout is not the same as tiredness: it does not lift with one good night's sleep, and by Monday you are back where you started. Underneath there is usually a rigid perfectionism and a belief that your worth is tied to your output.
The work here has two parts: real boundaries — knowing where work ends — and decision-making without obsession, which means deciding on the information you have and tolerating the consequences. At the end, work on meaning: why you work, and for what.

Questions people ask

Common questions

Time off is a painkiller, not a treatment. If every holiday you return to exactly the same place, the problem is structural and we need to work on boundaries and expectations.

Sometimes yes, and we look at that together; but far more often the shape of the job can be changed without changing the job.

If sleep and concentration are badly disrupted and external factors are also involved, coordination with a psychiatrist helps — and it is arranged with your consent.
